The aim of the course is to enable you to produce a piece of written academic discourse by improving awareness of organization, cohesion and use of language. In this course, you will become familiar with the writing conventions of scientific academic writing. Moreover, you will produce and polish your own introduction and conclusion sections.
This course will put you on the right track on the road to publication. The course will focus on writing an academic paper with a view to publication. This involves analysing its information and language conventions. We will analyse model texts and look at useful language for the different sections of a paper. We will discuss grammatical structures, punctuation, the use of linking words, and differences between American and British spelling. The course also covers writing a letter to the publisher. Course contents are adaptable to your needs.
